For several years, Wilfried has been exploring the oeuvre of American composer Cole Porter, who coupled genius songwriting with a highly interesting life and a sparkling philosophy. Porter’s wonderful melodies, inventive rhythms and dazzling humor have yet to lose their touch 50 years after his passing.

Wilfried obtained a doctoral degree with greatest distinction for 'Cole Porter's Legacy - An Inquiry'

On March 17 2014, Wilfried defended a PhD in the Arts on the subject of Cole Porter for Kunstenplatform – KConservatorium Brussel and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Part of this PhD is embodied by the 'Cole Porter Anthology' website:

In Antwerp’s Rataplan he is currently finalizing the Cole Porter Sessions: 15 episodes in which 320 Porter songs are presented in chronological order. Recordings of these songs can be found at www.coleporteranthology.com

» Looking for Cole

With Lou Demeyere and Simon Van den Brande he creates the documentary ‘Looking for Cole’ for Canvas, in which they explore the composer's life and work by traveling to the places where he spent most of his life and by interviewing experts such as Robert Kimball, Allen Forte and many others.

Looking For Cole is distributed worldwide by EuroArts and is released on DVD by Warner Music in May 2016.

» When Love Comes to Call

With bassist Jos Machtel and guitarist Peter Hertmans he recorded the new Porter CD ‘When Love Comes to Call’. It is presented at the Cole Porter Festival at Concertgebouw Brugge in March 2014.

Together with conductor and friend Dirk Baert, the Nueremberg Symphony Orchestra and the Jos Machtel Quartet, Wilfried recorded an extensive selection of Cole Porter’s work: 82 songs were published in a 5 CD box set titled ‘A Tribute to Cole Porter’.

It also features extensive information on the oeuvre of Cole Porter. A merge with the anthology is currently in the works in order to provide a centralized database of Cole Porter resources.

In February 2014 he performed alongside Broadway diva Kim Criswell and the WDR-Orchester Köln, led by Wayne Marshall.
